At Unseen 2012, Motive Gallery and Van Zoetendaal will present a preliminary selection of photographic works by Koos Breukel and Roy Villevoye from the ‘Tí’ project. In 2011, the two travelled to the Asmat in West Papua, a largely impenetrable mangrove swamp that Villevoye has visited regularly since 1992. There they met the inhabitants of the hamlets of Tí and Kobá who have lived in complete isolation in the rainforest for generations. They created portraits of all the villagers with the latter's' enthusiastic approval - as a result, a set of unique and as yet unseen documents was done.
