Takashi Kawashima

Japan, Tokyo G/P gallery

Takashi Kawashima (JP, 1985) works around the theme of natural catastrophes, utilising various techniques to create images from his archival data that consists of original or found photographs. He analyses the relationship between man and nature by using multimedia formats ranging from analogue prints to spatial installations. He is currently working on his new series, which is an updated version of the solo exhibition Absence and Ambience at Daiwa Foundation Japan House Gallery in London, 2017. After 18 months of stay in Amsterdam, Kawashima returned to Tokyo, where he is creating new works inspired by his research in Europe.
