Unseen Amsterdam 2018 presents a rich and varied programme for visitors to engage with contemporary photography. To give some insights ahead of the event this September, we’ll be using this feature to shed light on some of our most exciting programme elements.
This year, Unseen Amsterdam collaborated with 6 Academies – an association of six European art academies consisting of Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (DE), École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (FR), Fondazione Fotografia Modena (IT), Gerrit Rietveld Academie (NL), Royal College of Art (UK) and Zurich University of the Arts (ZW). Their combined presentation focuses on the similarities and differences between the works of their students, functioning as a meeting point to reflect on the significance of arts education and training in the cultural industry. The exhibition highlights three artists from each school, 18 artists in total, and will feature various talks and performances.
The participating artists are: Annabel van Royen, Sophie Wurnig, Enrico Garzaro, Lucie Marsmann, Patrick Pollmeier, Julia Gaes, Christel Thomson, Deo Sureera, Wenqingao Lei, Chiara Di Loreto, Daniele Alef Grillo, Davide Ghelli Santuliana, Marie Ward, Basile Bertrand, Keegan Keene, André Krysl, Jeremy Ayer, Max Ehrengruber and Christian Indergand. The artists will be supervised by tutors of their academies, consisting of: Vincent Zedelius, Johannes Schwartz, Marianne Müller, Roman Bezjak, Christophe Bourguedieu, Hermione Wiltshire and Claudia Löffelholz.
Don’t miss the Opening Talk at 14.00 on Sat 22 Sept!
